What are Skin Cancer and Mole Removal?
At REAL Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery, we can help restore your skin health by removing two types of growths:
- Skin cancers such as basal cell carcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas, and melanomas
- Benign growths such as unwanted moles, skin tags, scars, and ulcers
How are Skin Cancers and Moles Removed?
The technique used to remove your skin cancers or moles may differ depending on your condition, but Mr. Salerno can perform simple, quick excisions as well as more involved excisions. While benign skin growths are typically straightforward procedures, the removal of skin cancer from the body may be more involved and may require a more extensive excision. During your consultation with Mr. Salerno, many factors will be considered to determine which technique can yield the most desirable results.
Although many of these procedures are outpatient and can be performed in our Melbourne office, in some cases a hospital visit may be necessary due to the extent of the surgery or due to the patient’s preference. Prior to your procedure, Mr. Salerno and our medical team will let you know what you can expect.
What Can I Expect Afterward?
While men and women who have benign skin growths removed may be able to return immediately to normal activities, those who receive more extensive skin cancer or other removal procedures may experience a recovery period. In many cases, specimens will be sent out to ensure that no further treatment is required. Mr. Salerno and our medical team will discuss any post-procedure instructions or information that is relevant to your condition.
Am I a Good Candidate for Skin Cancer and Mole Removal?
No two conditions of skin cancers or skin growths are like, and the best way to determine your candidacy for mole removal procedures is to schedule a consultation with Mr. Salerno and our medical team and have your individual condition evaluated.
